A project inside the Market of Sant´ Ambrogio Firenze, 24-28/05/2011

The Market of Sant´Ambrogio with its wide range of products is the centre of the project. It is a place born for the comparison between demand and offer, which are influencing each other all day long. Here, the constant comparision of the goods is part of the bargain. The client takes a look around the market, comparing prices and quality to take a decision. Decisions always affect everyone’s daily life and lead up to further comparisons and decisions. In any case, there is the possibility to think about the so-called “middle road“: the attitude or the thought itself affects our choice, a creative act aiming to a third new condition by discussing the two preexisting options. The participating artists will demonstrate, through their works, the elements of the choice. They will work on the existing potential through the means of uniting, separating and adding. The wide choice of the market gives physical and mental material to work on. The market is seen as a great space of comparison, place of possible decisions. The artists will compare themselves with the existing space by defining a possibility.
